Terms of Service
What Previewcard is
Previewcard is a diagnostic tool. You paste a URL, and it fetches that page, reads its Open Graph and Twitter Card meta tags, and shows you what social platforms will display when someone shares that link. That is the entirety of the service.
Previewcard has no accounts, no user data storage, no background processing, no scheduled checks, and no email delivery. It answers only when you ask it, and every check is independent.
Using the service
By using Previewcard, you agree to the following:
- You will only submit URLs for pages that you own or have permission to check.
- You will not use the service to probe or enumerate URLs you do not have authorization to access.
- You will not submit URLs at a rate that amounts to an abuse or denial-of-service attack on the service or any upstream server.
- You understand that the service fetches and reads content from the URLs you submit — do not submit URLs to pages that require authentication or that you do not want the service to access.
No accounts or stored data
Previewcard does not create accounts, store user data, or retain check results. There is no way to save, share, schedule, or retrieve a previous check. Every check is run fresh from scratch.
Billing and payments
These billing terms apply only when payment processing is enabled. At present, no payment processor is connected to Previewcard. The Free plan requires no payment. The Pro and Enterprise plans listed on the pricing page are planned but not yet available for purchase. No billing information is collected or stored.
Plans and pricing (when available)
- Free plan: $0. No payment required. All features that are currently built are available without charge.
- Pro plan: $12 per month, billed monthly. Includes everything in Free plus batch checks, higher rate limits, API access, and CSV export — all planned, not yet available.
- Enterprise plan: $49 per month, billed monthly. Includes everything in Pro plus unlimited checks, dedicated infrastructure options, custom integration support, and an SLA — all planned, not yet available.
Billing period
Pro and Enterprise subscriptions are billed monthly in advance on the date of first payment. Each billing period is one calendar month. There are no annual or multi-year commitments at these price points.
Failed payments
If a payment fails (card declined, expired, insufficient funds, or any other reason):
- The payment processor will retry the charge automatically. Retries occur on a schedule set by the processor, typically 3–5 attempts over 7 days.
- During the retry period, the subscription remains active. You will not lose access immediately.
- If all retries fail, the subscription will be cancelled and access to paid features will be suspended until a new payment method is provided and a payment clears.
- No further charges are attempted after cancellation until you actively resubscribe with a valid payment method.
Refund policy
Because Previewcard is a diagnostic tool whose value is immediate (you use it and get an answer right away), all charges for subscription periods are non-refundable once a billing period has begun. There are no partial refunds for mid-period cancellations. If you cancel, paid features remain accessible until the end of the current billing period.
If a technical error on our side (e.g., the service was unavailable for an extended period) causes a charge to be taken without service being rendered, a full refund for that period will be issued upon request. To request such a refund, contact us — once a contact method and legal entity are established, details will be posted here.
Price changes
Prices for paid plans may change in the future. Existing subscribers will be notified at least 30 days before any price increase takes effect on their subscription.
Accuracy and limitations
Previewcard reports what it finds in the HTML it fetches. The following limitations apply:
- The service can only read publicly accessible pages. Pages behind authentication, paywalls, or IP restrictions will not be fetched successfully.
- Meta tag detection depends on the HTML structure. JavaScript-rendered meta tags (e.g., via client-side frameworks) are not read — the service does not execute JavaScript.
- Image dimensions are read from binary headers for JPEG, PNG, GIF, and WebP. SVG dimensions are not parsed from header bytes.
- If the page cannot be fetched (timeout, DNS failure, non-HTTP response), the service reports that the check did not complete. This is not a finding about your page's tags.
- The service does not follow links on the page, crawl the site, or enumerate other pages.
Disclaimer of warranties
Previewcard is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. The service may be unavailable, may return incorrect results, or may change without notice. You rely on the output of this tool at your own discretion.
Limitation of liability
In no event shall the operator of Previewcard be liable for any claim, damages, or other liability arising from your use of the service. This includes, but is not limited to, publishing a link whose social preview is incorrect after using this tool.
Changes to the service
Previewcard may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time without notice. The operator is under no obligation to maintain or update the service.
